Can any one help with advice. My 2012 A4 has developed a loud whine from the hpfp area of the engine. It gets worse as the engine warms up and is still there with the auxiliary belt removed. The whine intensifies as engine revs increase. The engine appears to be performing okay. Is this a known issue?

Thank you for the advice. I've just had the timing belt and all the pulleys renewed. The noise is still present... The Audi garage think it's a fuel pressure issue. I'm not sure because the car performs perfectly. What do you think?

Water pump too? Everything that touches the belts should have been replaced at a minimum. Rollers, tensioner and water pump.
