1999 Golf IV TDI automatic in Davis - Sacramento area FOR SALE

Today (2/19/2024) I posted photos of the car. The car is priced at the lower end of the price range due to poor condition. Most of the upgrades that I've installed are documented here in TDIClub. Multiple ECU's included.

The good
Original automatic transmission still works (multiple fluid changes over its life and careful driving preserved it)
Upgraded injectors
17mm turbo
Mercedes Benz MAF
stock ECU programming
(2/19/2024 edit) new timing belt installed at 195,000 miles
runs really well, quick off the start
Air conditioner works, but is low on refrigerant due to a leak. Need recharging seasonally 2x year.

(2/19/2024 edit) Heater core replaced at ~185,000 (you're welcome)
recent work on coolant temp sensor to repair a leak
(2/19/2024 edit) New battery installed today with 3 year warranty
(2/19/2024 edit) Sunroof and moonroof work but sometimes it opens slightly, spontaneously to the slanted position (open moonroof position)
(2/19/2024 edit) New tires installed at ~190,000

The bad
208,000+ miles
body and paint is in poor condition
interior is also in poor condition
it has a persistent voltage leak that drains the battery (manual battery disconnect switch included)
(2/19/2024 correction) Radio/CD player does not work
(2/19/2024 edit) front bumper not attached on driver side
(2/19/2024 edit) several years ago, the car skidded-out into the rough alongside a mountain road and scaped-up the undercarriage. Title is clean, but was "salvage title" when previously registered in CA due to this minor spin-out. Rear axles were replaced but no major frame damage.
(2/19/2024 edit) front driver side wheel well liner grinded away by the tire when the liner was loose. What's left of it is attached now.

Potential
I have a new, used, perfect condition rug for the cab of the vehicle
I have some spare parts (mostly clamps, hoses, clamps, and o-rings, etc.) and unfished project parts (gauges, water injector kit) to include, if wanted
(2/19/2024 edit) I have 1 or 2 spare ECUs for the vehicle, but I have long forgotten what each program contained, so consider these spare ECUs. I tried to get them to work but the Auto transmission put me over my head and I gave up/lost interest...never operated vehicle with them.

Fresh battery just installed today, battery disconnect will preserve it.
Losing the program isn't a big deal in the 1999. Starts up right away after reconnecting.

I replaced the washer fluid tank in 2017 but did not have a fresh rubber gasket for the outlet hose, so it still has a slow leak, damnitall.
It keeps enough washer fluid so that you can get around in a storm, but definitely something that will need a fix.

What is that chk engine light on for in one of your pics?
Do you have teceipts for timing belt replacement?
How many miles per gal of diesel does it take?

Yes, the car is still for sale.
The CEL was probably because it had not yet passed smog and it was complaining about the MAF.
It has since passed smog and is running well, but we've confirmed that the A/C has no charge/does not work.
My guess is that the compressor has gone bad because it works for a while after filling with refrigerant, but then peters out.
It can get up to 38 MPG.
I will confirm with my child but I'm pretty sure $700 will be fine.
