1993 1.9 idi engine, no start / oil light blinks when cranking

That snap connector and associated wire are to the anti-advance solenoid on the front of the pump...part of the emission control system that dials back the advance slightly under specific driving conditions to (slightly) improve emissions.

ahh okay thanks for clarifying. now where is this leak you guys speak of? maybe help point it out in the pictures for me? thanks a ton

If anyone can help me to get it running or give me advice on why it isn't starting that would be great and I don't have a vag com canner. Is this car obd1?

Change glow plugs . Check fuse first. Don't like to be boosted to start. Bad for glow plugs. Easy test even if warm out is plug engine in for couple hours
