so ideally it would be nice to have an A3 and a B4 for parts cars on hand. Lol. That is not gonna fly with the wife. Lol. I think ill start with the A3 cause that is what I currently drive and strip it and take what I want. Then get a B4 and strip and take what I want. Wreckers locally for VW stuff want an arm and a leg for everything. Cheaper to buy a parts car and I can still make money off the parts car. I dont anticipate this conversion being done for a while. Even if I had all parts ready to go, it would still be a few months of time. My evenings are limited and kids chew up alot of time. But at least I know what im getting into now.
Thanks.

No TDIs Currently, I have an R36 Corrado. I've had an ALH Corrado swap, AHU Corrado swap and 2003 TDI Jetta
I was able to buy mk3 tdi for $1,500 (great condition in 2007) and then buy the b4 tdi parts for less than $300.

The key is having the wiring schematics for the Corrado and the wiring harness you chose to use. b4 and mk3 are similar but there are a few subtle differences. Review the stickied thread in the tdi conversion forum, there are a lot of useful thread links in it.

Went and had a look at it this evening. car is at a open lot repair shop dealer. Went without owner knowing. she is beautiful. Underside from what I could see from rolling around was mint. solid 8.5-9 out of 10. 2 body plugs starting to show rust. hole is still complete. driver side rocker rust starting at joint. Right front fender has heavy surface rust right at arch. looks like old accident bad repair. metal is still thick and there. easy fix.
glass is intact. cant see anything that scares me. drivers seat is shot. no bigger. this thing is ripe for a fiull resto. says he has receipts for 17 000 since 2006. im interested to see these. Ran a carfax on vin. 3 vandalisim claims and 3 accidents. both around 600 dollar claims. front right fender. back left fender. Also front center claim for 1400. Nothing I could see from outrside car. when i go to meet seller tomorrow gonna have a good look in front engine bay and frame rails now that I know accident history.
Car has been a manitoba car its whole life and has no rust. I believe now it was summer car and always stored in a garage. Only rust of any signifigance is gas cap area. and that was even minimal.
Im really excited but waiting for the rub. Something has gotta give here. But he seems torn on selling cause he is so attached. but he wants it to go to a good home. Seems too good to be true though.
Says he will sell for $1200 without the rims he had on it. They are old VW spoke rims.
Carfax is good, if vin matched engine bay cowl and door cards, his license matches registration, and interior looks as clean from outside as it is on the inside, this car is a slam dunk.

That's a rare color and the rims are rare in the sense that very few corrados and rallye golfs still wear their stock Sebring wheels. They are somewhat soft and a royal pita to clean brake dust from.

It seems a little high but the color is better than most sub $1,000 corrado parts cars. If it were down here most would be looking to pay $500-$750 based on what you said.

that cheap down there? how is that? Is it just because of mileage and non running engine?
I figure if I look at his receipts and the New parts match up, I should be able to sell off alot. engine might even be an easy fix. tthese cars don't seem to go cheap at all up here. guys are wanting 1500 for parts cars.

Ok I bought it. Exterior needs virtually nothing. very small rust on 2 fenders. bottom or rear window. underside is mint. had it on a hoist at the shop. interior is mint other than the drivers seat is shot. Im gonna try and get engine running, then decide what to do from there. if it runs decent, may use it like that this summer, while I aquire my swap parts. gain a love for the car. And really find out what it needs.
Here are the pics of strut bar as promised.

"what are they worth to ya shipped? i can get them easily enough still."

Do they have the caps and are they relatively free of damage? How would you rate on a scale of 1 to 10?

Thanks for asking.

It is a set of 5. The guy says they are all good. I have 2 on the car right now that I need to get back to him. I think they all have center caps. If you wanted them I would have a good thorough look at them.
They would be shipped without rubber. Shipping is not gonna be cheap though. But I dunno.
If you are serious throw me a # with them shipped. They are gonna cost me $200 without the rubber. And I will still have to get them and package them. As a ball park on shipping it will be around $35 a rim.

re SkyRyder55:

Thanks, it would wind up being really pricey wouldn't it? ... so... I think it would be wise to continue waiting for a set to show up closer to home. AAaaaaaaaargh! Cheeeezussss Chr..............................!!!!! Sorry, I had to do that. I'm better now....

In other words, no thanks pal. A bit more than I can afford right now.

Cheers anyway.
