As you remember the gauge area was a little loosy goosy to saw the least..

The solution I found was to get a vw radio delete panel and cut out the holes 2" diameter and hopefully have a tight fit...

Here you can see how perfect it will fit once completed

This was a tedious process to cut nice clean holes, I used a drill and dremel to tackle it...

I used blue painters tape to not scare the face of it then mocked up where the holes would need to be cut

1"holes cut dead center now I just need to open them up a bit.

First one complete two more to go

Here is the next big thing...

Rear brake set up...
Brake fluid
Brake shoes
Drums
Rear bearings
Drum springs hardware
Distribution block
Brake valves...

Window regulator
Rear door handle
All control Arm bushings
Front bearings and housings
Valve cover gasket

I'm hoping this will refresh the suspension a bit give a more positive feel and also really breath some life into the brakes..

Someone put in work this weekend!! I'll be around this coming weekend if you need a hand installing all those shinny new parts. I have to install a new reverse switch myself so that I can have reverse lights and pass inspection

I had some free time today and was able to get the rear drivers side door handle in, it went pretty smoothly.... I also snapped a few pictures of the changing of the passenger Window regulator.

As you can see the cable rusted and ultimately snapped... I ask is this very common cause this is the second time I changed this regulator for the same problem...

Up and down with ease...

Lmfao you prick.... What batzel is referencing here is we got the entire front knuckles off hubs entire front end realized that kit I bought lacked the sway bar bushings and sway bar end links... About 35 bucks worth of parts.... Anyway the plan for tomorrow is push out all bushings insert new and get it all buttoned up.... I'll order the end links and swap them out in the near future..

Here is some pictures of today's work

Bring here in preparing for surgery

Front knuckles hubs everything basicly from tire back removed...

Control arms off and cleaned

Knuckle

Little issue the side with the busted bearings lol... The rotor seems to be fused to the hub... Mark beat it for a good amount of time.. I gave it some pretty good shots and Ronnie just looked at it but she is being very stubborn... Well get it solved tomorrow when the press is in play.....

And here Is the crew... A motley bunch but it's the best I can do.... Ronnie left Mark right

Ronnie wouldn't cut the crusts off for you? :D

Let me explain from my view point. Once Doug got comfortable in our relationship, he did what every other woman does... He cut his hair short like a boy (then lost the rest), and he gained 100 lbs turning himself into a Hippo. Maybe I would do nice things for him if he would clean himself up a little bit.

G, you wouldn't have known what to do last night with the problems we encountered haha. Ended up really burning the midnight oil and making one off sleeves for the rear control arm bolt, nearly destroyed a non adjustable drivers side TRE, fighting with the swaybar bushings and various other bumps along the way.

I'm seeing a pattern with these diesels and I am not liking it haha. 13 hours we worked on the car yesterday. It was 12 hours to install your frost heater and battery tender. I told the young lad to not get ahead of himself Sat when he mentioned rear brakes; I think he see's why now...
