17/22 Daily Driven?

Stupid GMC 2500HD non diesel :(
Stupid question maybe? I've been thinking long and hard about picking up a 17/22 and was wondering about the driveability of it for daily use? I tow my 16 foot lund in the summer, and a small snowmobile trailer in the winter.

Wondering if its laggy at all, or if it will just be more awesome all the time?

I've already got pp764's and a malone stage 3, which I will have to have updated once I put the turbo on.

Thoughts?

It's a fantastic daily driver. Had one for years and with a good tune and injectors my mileage went up along with the power. Drivability was excellent.

i daily drive a 2260... the 17/22 is a sweet turbo to start with very strong, well built and pulls hard! Lots of them out there - have yet to hear someone complain about it (other then it being too small :D)

I've had a 17/22 for 2 years now. Don't expect boost at 1500 RPM in a high gear, but if you keep the revs where you should anyways (~2000 RPM), the boost and pull is pretty nice.

So on the highway you still just need to give her a tickle to take off, still no need to drop a gear?

What are your highway speeds? (I can better answer if I know that)

My 17/22 with RC5, 11mm, other supporting mods makes 28psi @2000rpm...no need to drop a gear unless you want to show off...

I've driven IBW with 17/22 and RC6 for almost 100K. I just did an engine refresh and had a 1756 ready to go in, decided to stick with the 17/22 because it drives so well. The only time it doesn't spool quickly enough is at 1200 RPM or so in 3rd or 4th gear. Otherwise it drives very much like a VNT-15. No FE penalty that I've experienced.
