New to me 2015 GSW 6MT, 244k miles, small oil leak at the lower rear of the engine, near the auxiliary coolant pump. looks like it’s the upper oil pan to block gasket. I can’t find any gaskets available, was this factory sealed with an RTV or similar? If so, does anyone have a lead on the proper sealant and procedure?

At first glance my guess is yes, looks like the trans bolts to the block and to the upper pan but I haven’t had time to look any further yet. Hopefully it’ll just drop out

Did you have to drop the trans?
engine was on a stand, i am not sure if you can reach the 2 bolts by the crank or not though, i think you can as there are holes in the casting. you can go under your car and look

My Ford/Navistar 7.3 needed an RTV oil pan "gasket" when I replaced the rusted oil pan. A lot of the experienced powerstroke guys swear by the Permatex, the right stuff- product. I had trouble getting the motocraft sealant from Ford to make a good seal, but the Permatex right stuff worked great.

FYI, I completed this last night. All bolts accessible while engine is in car, with no special tools just a 5mm Allen with ball end for the two bellhousing bolts
Did you leave the transmission in place while you dropped this part? Did you have to remove the oil cooler and filter housing too?

PM’d you. Trans stayed in place, did not remove oil cooler or filter housing
