The auto up/down feature (not sure the actual name) on my front driver window doesn't always work. In fact, it works only about 30% of the time. The other three work just fine, but on my front driver side window gives me issues.

I haven't seen any bulletins out on the problem. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had this happen just this week actually. The way to reset it is to run the window all the way up then back down using the switch normally. It's only happened once, but I'll be surprised if it's the last time. One thing that I do notice is most of the time when the driver's window is opened/closed that I can hear a noise that sounds like it's rubbing on something inside the door or there is something out of line in the cable and pulley regulator track. If it is in fact doing that, it could be enough drag to trigger the "pinch protection" and thus creating the issue with the auto up/down function.

I had been fighting this issue for months, kept having to reset and relearn the 1-touch.

Finally figured out that during a few week cold spell it didn't happen - no codes or similar.

Tech finally found that window motor pulled higher load, and that increased as temps increased. Replaced window motor and haven't seen issue since.

My car is doing this all the time now that it's getting warmer. Fault code for driver's window motor stored in VCDS and not able to reset. Guess I need to get one ordered under warranty

Had my dealer look at this as well. He said you just hold the down, then the up. and it resets it....

Works for now :|
It worked for me until last week, it will not reset at all now. Tried clearing the code in VCDS and it came right back. The window still works, but the motor throwing a fault like this makes all of the convenience non-functional...so, holding the driver's window button up/down to roll all up/down, the key fob window control, and also the rain sensor closing all do not work at the moment. And I use those features a ton apparently, as it's been a rather frustrating week without that haha.

Update on my windows. Took the car to the dealer mentioning the code for the driver's window motor fault. They reset basic settings, but didn't mention anything about the window motor, and all was good for about a week. After they stopped working again, I did the same with VCDS on my laptop and reset all adaptation values in basic settings...all fixed. I've now had to reset it yet again, so that makes three times in the last three weeks. I'm wondering if the window motor fault is causing my coding tweaks to be reset and I just need to replace the motor.

Since its been in the 80's & 90's my driver side window won't automatically roll down either. I have to hold the button down or up to have it go up or down. I'm due for service this week so I'm gonna have the VW dealership look at it.

Resetting the basic settings makes it relearn everything from scratch and clears the fault codes that can't be cleared the normal way. After a few days, it figures out that the motor is pulling high current and it disables one-touch again to protect itself.

You need to have them replace your driver's side window motor under warranty - resetting it every week is a major annoyance.

All of you guys who are having problems need to visit your dealer before your bumper-to-bumper warranty expires. They'll probably clear it and send you on your way, but go back immediately when the problem reappears a few days later and pressure them to replace the motor. Chances are they won't replace it on the first visit because they want to verify that there is a consistent problem before replacing expensive parts, so don't get too upset by that.

It's been fine for a few weeks for me. Just waiting for the next reset to take it back and request them to replace the window motor
