My parent bought a 2014 JSW. I noticed that there is a rattling sound while driving which sounds like something hard rattling against the window. After carefully listening for one of the rear seats it now sounds like one of the rear windows is loose. This is the rear window (between the C and D pillars) on th driver's side.

Has anyone else heard of this issue? My guess is that this would be a manufacturing problem.

I do hope the VW dealer will warranty its repair since the car was bought new ~5 months ago. The pessimist in me says they will say that after a careful road test they didn't hear any noise...

Rattling to the extent you're describing seems to be a manufacturing defect and should be repaired under warrenty...
take it to the dealer you got it from and have it checked out. chances are good they'll find the rattle and fix it. If they find "nothing wrong" take it to another dealership.

I think the windows are glued in place, similar to a windshield, so they aren't going to rattle. That doesn't mean a trim piece can't rattle against it.

My '014 had a rattle which seemed to be coming from above the driver's side rear door window. It turned out to be part of the airbag wire harness that wasn't secured properly. Dealer fixed it, but had to pull the headliner to get at it. It's possible yours is the same noise.
