Very cool milestone for the Passat plant and it's interesting that they're already clearing land for the factory expansion that hasn't been announced.

I didn't realized you worked there! Cool gig. Thanks for building us such a great car - we love it!

The land clearing is related to the setup of the solar farm, the road connection is to help with our traffic egress/ingress situation. You can always count on the media to misreport.

I don't work on the production line but I agree the production workers are doing an amazing job.

Too bad that solar farm will never turn a positive ROI... the photo voltaics will wear out long before the breakeven point. Ya, ya, I know... it's all about green/LEEDs appearances.

Just found out today that our SEL Premium is number 99,390. Now if we could just get it delivered to the dealership...

Augghhh. That is why Germany has installed solar on every home in the country. It WORKS and it PAYS. They will last for 30 years at least.

Germany recently broke a record with 22 GIGAWATTS PER HOUR of electrical generation for 8 hours.

For reference the entire Hydroelectric, wind and Gas generation systems of the Bonneville Power Authority in the Pacific Northwest generates 17 Gigawatts per hour at maximum output.

You clearly don't know squat about either finance, economics, or solar power.

ROI is a flawed measure because there's isn't always a unique solution and it doesn't allow one to compare projects of different risk. And then there are the externalities in the fossil fuel markets - air pollution, environmental degradation, and endless wars. On top of that, PV costs continue to drop, and lifetimes exceed 15 years, with the possible exception of the power inverter.

you are dismayed by the notion geo-political nuances are somehow part of ROI. It's simple math. Deal with it.
