I was perusing all the old Ho5G GTG threads over the years and I can't believe how few people are even interested this year:(. Used to get 100's of posts.... I'm leaning toward making the drive,it's 40+ outside here today,so hopefully roads should be clear out your way.....

Post pictures of the wood stove. Have a good time out there, that event is on my bucket list:D but with winter the way it is here right now and the storm coming across the Midwest, --well we need some pictures.

I'm not going to make it this year.

Miss you all. Have a great time.

I have a new (to me) toy. A 2007 R class CDI. I purchased from Cevans

So Iggy's old 87 400D is for sale!

Julie and Peter, thanks for hosting the annual event. A very nice group with many old familiar faces - well not old, but I've know them for a while, so the friendship is old, not the person. You know what I mean...

As always, great to see everyone. And I enjoyed the ride in SnowCub's S-Class. Made my Golf feel like a little economy car when I got in it to drive home...because it is.

Happy New Year everyone!

Still not sure if you have to work on Monday?
I know the feeling. That's why I'm glad my company wrote into the policy book many years ago... If the holiday falls on a Saturday you get the Friday before off. If the holiday falls on a Sunday you get the following Monday off.
So this year for Christmas it was great! We got Friday off for Christmas Eve and Monday off for Christmas Day.
So my company has a similar plan, but we'd normally only get New Year's day, not the 31st, off. Oh, we'd typically leave early on Dec. 31st, but it was an expected work day. This just-passed year's schedule had the 30th (Friday) listed as our observed "New Year's day". And so it was that I was at my desk this morning at 05:30 getting a jump on the year. About 07:00 I was printing the e-mail with the 2017 company days off to pin up in my cube, and it listed the 2nd as the observed New Year's. I was wondering why the other early arrivers hadn't begun showing up.

Those stuffed jalapeños were excellent!

Thanks for having all of us up again for the annual new year tradition. Jason and I really enjoyed it, as did Haru.

2017 TDIclub Ho5G attendees:

A huge thank you for your help and attending this GTG. Everyone is important and your being here just shows that the club is still important. Your friendship is legendary and is a huge reason Julie and I can do this.

Everything from the food drink and clean up along with driveway ice maintenance and pitching in is deeply appreciated. Interestingly enough this was a rear hatch GTG Golf got a new harness and the '03 wagon got a rust free hatch. The toureg goes up and down quietly now.

We had Visitors from Ohio to Virginia and up the Atlantic coast. Even Estonia was in attendance.

All again a huge thank you from Julie and myself. The Northeast knows how to keep the TDI life going. And those who were previous owners still attended as they are TDI family and friends.

The Ho5G is about 100% back into shape and the recycle truck will be busy here....

To all the Ho5G hope to all that 2017 will be a great TDI year.
