09 JSW Radio Question

I've seen adds for aftermarket radios that are "HD"..they show name and title of song playing, sort of like satellite radio.Is the stock radio capable of that?i live too far away from major cities that carry that type of fm broadcasting but some texting messaging does show on the radio screen and not the name/title of song.Im guessing the station is not transmitting that info.....anyone in the city see different??Just wondering.Thanks

I'm in the Greater Toronto Area and for FM stations, my radio shows the station's id and the name of the song playing. Neat feature but wasted on me because I use the radio for news, weather, traffic and my iPod for music.

I know it is for the Sirius Satellite part of it...but my pops 09 Jetta didn't show song names on FM. Don't bother with HD...its "terrestrial" radio's way of trying to pretend like they have something good to offer other than local traffic/news info. I would get Sirius if you're out in a rural area, cant beat it when it comes to music channels and entertainment programming.

thanks for that info.i'm guessing it all depends on the radio station..the ones around here arent that advance in technology yet.next time im in a major city i'll check it out.
