Not sure about the 09's, but this information will be in the owners manual.

If you don't wanna go digging through it, someone will probably be along soon with the procedure.

place black electrical tape over the "Service Now" message. you shouldn't see it after that.

pecosrunner!!!! Don't be a Jar Head! I am an Army Officer, so that was intended with a smile. Read my signature block link. I hope you are on target and did not make the same mistake I did.

ROFLMAO. What you would get with that dealer oil change won't be free.
pecosrunner, If you follow the instructions airwolf linked, be sure to wait for the odometer to go off before you start the process. It takes 30 seconds or so after you turn off the key.

I thought these TDIs were Marine proof???Im not sure what mistakes u did, but its too late if i did the same....i changed the oil just under 10k by a few miles(by the owners manual)...approx 4.2liters Castrol 507 spec oil...OEM oil filter and i went ahead and installed Fumoto valve.i drained oil cooler from the top using an extractor...

The mistake I made was to change my oil at about 3,500 miles. My signature block has a link that explains why this was a bad decision on my part. Perhaps it would be good to read since you have a few other diesel engines in your motor pool.

OK..i dug and found that IT IS NOT.It clearly states to take it to the stealerhip or certified shop to clear message. It doesnt give instructions for DIY.

LOL:D

As for how to turn it off, isn't it something like Turn the key to on and hold the hour/min button or something to that effect? Something like that worked on my 'o6 to turn off the Service indicator....

Did you try the method in the link in post#4? That worked for the '06 model.
