06 Jetta Hard-start Q's...

Tried to start my car today... and it didnt want to.

Turned the key, and it would catch, rev up, and then die. Repeat, repeat, tried it again and i hit the gas, and it started.

Turned it off once i had driven it about 20 miles, tried to turn it back on and it would catch, rev up, almost die, but save itself and return to normal idle.

*** is wrong with my car? Is it fuel filter time? 17k on the clock.

It may be the intank lift pump going out. They are problamatic on the PDs, especially the early ones. Try replacing the filter in case you got a bad batch of fuel (because bad fuel is not covered by warranty)

If that does not solve the problem and since it's under warranty, let the dealer figure it out.

Just wanted to update you guys that yes, it was the fuel filter. Car starts easy as day one, and engine idles smoother. VW isnt kidding about needing to change at 20k....
