I have a 2005.5 MKV BRM PKG 1 (Love the beast!)

Mileage: 227,000 (my daily)

Avg mileage: 550-600 miles

This car has almost everything original, turbo, cam, lifters. Only thing replaced was Egr cooler which was leaking last year.
I did end up putting a vr6 clutch w/g60 flywheel in it today (original dmf was ****)
Other than that, German engineering really holds together well!
Can't wait to tune it next!
These cars have a lot of potential, I'm excited! ?

I'm the original owner of mine which still has under 95,000 miles. And it had a new DSG put in at ~57K after the flywheel broke apart and tore up the transmission. Maybe this is the wrong thread for me!

'06 Jetta 270,000 original everything except wheel bearings (too many to count) and one timing belt and water pump. I just ordered a camshaft rebuild kit OEM. Now, I hope that cures the smoke and hesitation issue at acceleration.

I have 350,000km on my BRM with similar maintenance history.
For me the hesitation was solved by the VNT stop set screw adjustment aka zip tie mod. I just actually adjusted my set screw as per a thread here?

I have a 2005.5 jetta with a BRM. It has 320k on it now. Replaced the turbo and cam shaft at 300k. The tops of the lifters where wearing through, one lobe was wearing down as a result. Clutch was replaced at 270K nothing else done except the standard timing belts and water pump changes. It burns no oil and averages 50mpg on a 25 mile highway commute. I'm hoping to make it to 450k.

Mine has 262000 miles
Cam: 1 @175000
DMf: 1 @ 77,000
Wheel brgs all around: 180-250k miles
Struts and shocks at 250
Alt and pulley: at 210k
Dsg: new at 77000 (killed when the DMf grenaded at hwy speed)
Body is fair with all that craptastic salt in the wintertime could be a LOT worse if it were a mazda!
Mpg's in the low 40's in the hills of the finger lakes of NYS.

There was a member on here that had 600000m on his chase/escort vehicle..I tried to buy it from him..he had these over 3 years ago..his maint. records were..5 timing belts, couple drive axles, over a hundred oil changes..1 cam and lifters i believe..he let it run during lunch..started car in morning and left it idle at lunch..ran 12 hours a day..

These cars are bullet proof, have there querks for the factory, but get 50mpg, run hundreds of thousands of miles..

I still own my 2..the dsg hass 190000m..the 2005.5 modified 5 speed has 125000m...

I am keeping them forever and still love them..You cant buy a car like this anymore..

234K here. Replaced the cam at 92k. Transferred egr and related hardware to the scrapyard at around 120k. I replaced original clutch at 172K and replaced the clutch again at 229K due to premature pressure plate failure. now only if I could find a cheap solution to my failed turbo actuator.

265K miles on my 2006 Jetta TDI.

Replaced DMF at 122K, cam at 182K, turbo at 253K, EGR cooler somewhere around 215K. :(

Rocketchip RC1+ installed at ~200K :D
The car runs strong and fuel mileage is trending upward around 42 MPG.

Now I just need to install the heated seats that I bought last winter.

I have a turbo actuator for sale in the Private TDI items for sale forum:

This isn't looking too good. It seems that almost everyone is doing a cam at or before 200k miles!!!
Historically, most were replaced before 100K. I'm guessing many of those folks already parted with their A5, so posts in this tread may be skewed by second owners. And the minority, such as myself, who were fortunate to last until the 200K TB interval.

mileage in 2005. 5 Jetta TDI

I have 443,000 miles; new cam at 334,000 miles with flywheel change also; otherwise driveline is original. No oil consumption, attribute longevity to frequent ( 3500 mile) oil changes, careful initial engine break in, very conservative driving habits. I consider this the best diesel car I have owned even though a 1986 Mercedes diesel had 527,000 miles (original unrepaird engine) before I sold it.

my 06 has 189,XXX and I have owned it since 150k and 3 years ago(my Harley gets all the summer miles). According to the car fax it had a new clutch at 80k, I replaced all 4 hub assemblies between 160k and 175k. I just put a new 3" MBRP cat back exhaust on it due to the old pipe rusting off. I run Rotella T6 oil and Mann filters every 4k miles. I was also told it has a Rocket Chip tune on it but cannot verify that as of yet.
