Hey curious to see how long this car is going to last! Post up the following if you have over 200k miles!

How many Cams: 1 @ 200k Miles
How many Turbos: 1 @ 200k Miles (Old turbo was still good but VNT had a lot of play)

Several members above 300K and at least one above 400K. I'm only at 286K and got 54 MPG on the morning commute. BRM is a solid motor with the proper oil, cam and DMF.

Mine is almost to 186K. It had a little over 58K when I bought it in 2009. I'm about to go on a west coast road trip making stops in Denver, Portland and Seattle. The only things I've replaced have been brakes and tires. I haven't had any engine-related problems except for for when I overcharged my A/C last summer. Good thing there was a car shop a block away from my hotel in Phoenix.

I usually get around 600 miles a tank delivering pizza. On road trips, I usually get between 650 and 700 miles on a tank. My personal best is about 711 and that was going the speed limit from Oklahoma City to Omaha, then to Kansas City. I had to fill up halfway to Kansas City. I've only gone over 700 miles twice. I'm sure if I tried I could get closer to 750 miles on a tank, but time is usually a more important resource than diesel on my road trips.

06' Jetta TDI dsg, 445,000 miles and counting!
413k
3rd cam at 398k
2nd dmf at 300k
2nd turbo at 350k
2nd alt. Pulley at 408k
No power adders

400 psi compression on all 4 cylinders. Uses about a quart of oil every 4000 miles. Runs like a top that has a well seasoned edge...lol Definitely my favorite TDI so far.

Also, Dsg and mechetronics are original and it shifts fine!

Your tank holds 16 gallons.
I find this hard to believe. Whenever my fuel light comes on, I know I can go between 60 and 70 miles before I'm in danger of running completely out of diesel. Filling to the cap, I've never pumped much more than 15 gallons at once. I'm not willing to risk burning my fuel pump to test your 16-gallon theory.

It's definitely more than 13.5 gallons. I've filled up at 52 litres before and that's already 13.7 gallons. 16 gallons seems extremely optimistic but 14.5, like it says in the manual, seems to be a good bet.

still going

Got the 2005.5 version of the BRM mk5 and the car is solid at 260,000 miles.
2nd turbo @ 250k
2nd cam@ 142k
Clutch @ 182k
Tuned with bigger turbo and stronger clutch. Pushing about 260 ft-lb torque.
I see no reason 300k+ is not possible.

Hmmm, where to begin?
Theory or fact? Pumping 16 gallons is old news and I'm not the first.
You should read your manual: 1.9 gal reserve at low fuel warning.
Speaking of facts, low fuel burning the pump is a myth, but you're free to believe what you want... Like those doing 5k OCIs.

My sister ran her car dry once and the fuel pump failed as a result. Call that a myth if you want, but I call it cause and effect.

Whenever my fuel light comes on, I go another 60 to 70 miles and usually pump around 15 gallons in these instances. Once again, I'm not risking my fuel pump to test your theory.

Did I mention your sisters whatever? Proper context... VW. I'm trying to be nice, do the math... 1.9 x [current MPG] = >70. Facts can be stubborn, people more so.

Even with that theory, that would put my tank at 15.4 gallons. My fuel light comes on at or around 13.5 gallons. I've never come close to pumping that much diesel into my car. Chances are I never will.

330k miles

330,000 miles on 06 BRM, new cam, tandem pump and wheel bearings. Just now rebuilding 5 speed tranny. Original brakes, needs shocks. Good power burns very little oil, 10k miles between changes, with Castrol 0W40, 505.01.

205k here. Did the cam at 200k, turbo and injectors are original. No issues otherwise, and the DSG shifts great!

Mine is a 2006.5 "special edition"

I currently have 211K on it.
I replaced the cam at 146K
I replaced the Turbo at 75K, but i think something was amiss from the beginning.

I have an RC1 tune on it.

Currently seeking to resolve some other minor issues and getting ready for TB change.

I have a 2005.5 Jetta TDI, 435,000 miles. No oil consumption, runs like new. Oil changes every 3000-3500 miles, carefully driven. New cam and flywheel at 343,000 miles, only driveline work done.
