Hi all,

I just wanted to post a problem that came up with my wife's 2004 Jetta PD yesterday morning:

The event:
- My wife drove her car up the street (a slight uphill incline) on her way to work in the morning, made it about 200 feet and she said she noticed her power steering starting to give up, and then the car stalled out.
- The car started again pretty much right away, but she wasn't comfortable taking it all the way to work until we figured out why it had stalled.
- I drove her car the rest of the day and went to check for codes at my friend's place.
- There was one fault code:
16512 - Coolant Valve (N214) Temperature below Control Range
P0128 - 000 - -

I'm just wondering if anyone has any ideas of whether this code might be related to the car stalling out, and what I should do about it? Her car seems to be running fine again, for now...

Other info prior to the event:
- I plugged in her frostheater overnight (no timer - just kept it warm all night).
- I started the car in the driveway for her (post frostheater disconnect), and let it run for probably 5 minutes before she left.
- I don't remember what the gauge read, but usually on the cold nights on the driveway, the temp gauge starts at around 70 degrees, but quickly drops off the scale as the coolant starts circulating. For sure, the car starts better than cold though as the noise is much more smooth.

Thanks for any advice or help!

I had this error once in the spring and could not find any info about it. I had just started the AC recently. Cleared the code and it never came back in the last couple of years since I first had it. I wouldn't worry about it. Clear it and move on.

i personally think the code was a stored code from a previous error, and the stall out may have been caused by a fueling issue.

Like ic_ou812 said, clear it and ride it out.
