Are these available or repairable?

I've yet to take it apart but the driver window one of the four is getting really ratty and unstable..... obviously not being able to open the window isn't ideal....

I bought an aftermarket one of Amazon for about $11. Comes with all the switches and lock button as a unit. Mine works good. I'm happy with it

Aha. Now Idparts I believe actually sells stuff that won't fall apart. Yeah, $100 is.... a bit stiff which is why I was asking. Thanks.

I bought a cheapie from Amazon once - lasted less than a year before the switches literally came out of the housing.
Since then I've just grabbed them when I notice a set when getting stuff from the scrapyard - price is typically similar (like $10, or it's just a toss-in if I have a big pile o' stuff).

I was able to take my driver's door switch assembly out, disassemble it and clean it (it was really dirty -- lots of dust, etc) and put it back in. No problems since. My symptoms were the driver's window "auto-up/down" sometimes --most of the time-- didn't work. Not a difficult job, IMO.

I recently replaced mine and I just bought one from the dealer and it wasn't actually that much $$. I looked on amazon before and couldn't decide on one, and some were more than I paid as is.

The difference between the men and the boy's is the price of the toys. :)

Last time I was at the junkyard I grabbed 3 of them, I still have them on the shelf. Two look oem one is an aftermarket.

At 482k I’m on my third drivers window switch assembly. I paid $80 for a bunch of things that included a new deck lid for my golf, one beetle rim, the switches and several other items.
