I've got a 03 jetta with 289k on the clock I picked up that supposedly had a timing belt failure, but it was just a timing belt tensioner failed and slip a few teeth till it stopped running. This is the third tdi I have acquired that had this happen.
So I installed timing belt kit, cleaned all intercooler, pipe and intake, the motor runs great now but has some shifting issues.
I drained the trans fluid changed filter. it still has a 2-3 flare up and 3-4 is kind of slow.
But when the vehicle is warmed up if shifts fine. So I plan on replacing the shift solenoids and maybe pull the VB to clean and inspect. Might install a transgo kit while I'm in there.
Now has anyone R&Red a 01m valve body, is there no valve body gasket? as I have search and have been unable to located one. If after all this and it still has cold shifting problems I'll probably just drive it till it gives out and convert it to a standard.
So does a 01m have valve body gasket?
