99.5 Jetta flashing glow plug light.
VCDS scan yielded a 00741 fault, Brake Pedal Monitoring Implausible Signal.
Foot off brake, VCDS measuring group 006, block 2 shows 001 (I know it should be 000). Pedal pressed shows 011. I disconnected the switch and VCDS shows a 011.
Car harness Pin 2 & 3 show 11.57V
Pin 2 & 3 on switch show continuity. No other combination on the switch shows continuity regardless if plunger is depressed or not.

Is my switch bad?
Current switch part number 1C0945511A

Pins 1 and 4 of the switch should have continuity with the pedal pushed.
With the brake pedal plug off there should be power to pin 1 red/brown wire.
Pin 2 should have power with the key off.
1 and 4 are the for the brake lights.
1 should have power always.

Test results on the harness connector...

Pin 1 red/brown, key on has 12v, key off has no power
Pin 2 blue/yellow, key on has 12v, key off has no power
Pin 3 white, key on no power, key off has no power
Pin 4 red/black, key on has 6v, key off has .056v

NOTE: I used the pin numbers off the connector itself.

Pins 1 and 2 are ok.
With the plug connected to the switch there should be power at pin 3 with the key on.

On the switch, pins 1 and 4 are for the brake lights.
Pins 2 and 3 are to disengage cruise control. This part on the switch is normally closed w/ the pedal up.
You already checked continuity. (post 1)
Switch sounds like it's OK as far as I can tell.

I'm starting to wonder if the CCM is acting up.
Did you check the Ross-Tech link BobnOH posted?

I did check the Ross Tech link, however it's not terribly helpful. Next on the hit list is to check the brake light sockets and connectors for damage.

Question: are the front turn signals on the same circuit as the brake lights? I ask because I have a blown left turn signal fuse, replaced and it blew immediately.

Update: found the cause of our dead short on the left side marking system. It was a bad bulb on the new bumper light pig tails we installed. It's unrelated to the flashing GP light and 00741 Fault.

New brake switch arrives Monday (even if just for troubleshooting). All brake light bulbs, connections etc look fine on right and left rear.

I have the same code. I only have the one switch with four wires too. I think the clutch portion of my switch is staying made. I just ordered a switch with little troubleshooting since the switch was relatively cheap. I'm hoping it's just a stuck contact.

Update: replaced brake switch and installed a new battery. Old battery wasn't correct and was old. Even after we replaced the switch, we still had to power on the car and function the switch to clear the flashing GP light. Anyways, flashing GP light is gone now.

Glad you got it fixed and posted the solution for others down the line.
I was hesitating to call it bad as your posted tests seemed it was good.

Kinda what I thought too! I will say, you can't just hook up new switch and the code goes away. You have to clear it, function the switch a few times with the key on, THEN it will go away.

I plugged in new switch, verified 000 in the measuring blocks but still had the fault, even after I cleared it. Functioned the switch to verify I got 011 in VCDS and ran another scan, no fault.
