I just got this in an e-mail and thought it was interesting. Note that you can go 609 highway miles on "one tank of gas." :p Limited to 15 states, it looks like.

Not a bad deal.... last month when I bought one in AL the Volkwagen Credit offers were as low as 2.9% for a term up to 36 months. 0% is even better.

Uhh, Junior, we prefer to say "fuel" or "diesel" or "D2" or "S15"...just not gas. Gas is evil ;)

(Yes, only VWoA would publish such an error in their ad copy. No surprises there.)

Well it is the end result that counts. I would rather have a higher rate and pay less. Better yet, I would rather have saved up enough to pay cash. My 2002 NB was purchased with about 12 months payments and the dealer had nothing to do with financing, I did that independently and saved money then after those payments it was all mine. My next one should be totally cash on my part. Of course if they are promoting something like noted here, I would expect a deal when I am offering cash.

The 2006 Jetta brochure also says that "the TDI will take you from Hell to Paradise on one tank of gas". You would figure that VW would have picked up on that by now.

When I bought my Jetta, I financed it and then paid it off with a credit card at 0% interest, so I own the bill of sale.

I got the same e-mail this afternoon. I was kind of surprised to see a special offer with RUG at $3.29/gal and ULSD as low as $2.73/gal in my area. However, I agree with Joe, give me a discount and let me pay cash.

I don't think a TDI will even get that far on a tank of gas. ;)

Do you need to be a resident of those states or just buy there?
The "UP TO" credit offer is for the States listed.
Buy it in Michigan, and finance in Michigan, you get the reduced rate of up to 0%.

That does not imply that every buyer gets 0% (based on their credit history).

I recieved the same ad, limited to Texas and Oklahoma residents. West Houston VW had about 15 in stock. I was told invoice + $500 if anyone is interested.

Also 0% / 36mo.

Picked mine up at Archer VW in Houston (highly recommend) last Friday for invoice through internet dept. "Jeff Brown", but he said they might go up a little this week. 2.9% up to 72 months FTW!! (WAC ;) )

I'm in Illinois and one of the guys I work with got the same ad. My question is where do you find a 2007 TDI? Aren't all the ones being sold as new technically 2006 models? Since the ad says "buy a new 2007 VW and get 0.0% financing" wouldn't you be out of luck since all TDI models are 2006's? Also, aren't all the 2006 or 2006.5 TDIs sold out?

You are correct, there are NO 07 TDI's. In TX, I easily found 5 dealers that had 40+ (2006 - 2006.5) TDI's on hand and some had not sold a single one in 3+ months.
