That video explains a lot. The tensioner will pop up a little, hence the need to compress with the nut. The vw tensioner didn’t pop up as much compared to the INA one. Probably the source of my confusion. Thanks.
So new VW tensioner worked. I dont know exactly why the INA for idparts refused to cooperate.
Final tension mark. I haven't removed the pins and turned it over, but at least its where it needs to be.
