You can buy a Curt hitch on Amazon for MUCH less money. I bought mine for 120$ including the ball mount and free shipping;) Edit: 112$ and free 2 day shipping (for Prime Members)...

This thread is so old I've since sold my TDI and bought something Ecoboost powered:D

Sorry, just traded mine in for private party value:D Check Craigslist. When I was considering selling (before trading in) I used CL to check PP market values and there were actually some great deals out there. Far more autos than 5 speeds from what I saw. Most of them in the 100-120k mile range...

I bought this a few months ago. The local "guru" here in GA has been booked solid and I was in no rush because the mileage wasn't high enough yet anyhow. After a few family vacations over the holidays and spring break we decided we needed a larger "family" vehicle........IE-we need more space...

Sorry for the wrong terminology. It appears to not be 100% "trusted mechanics" either. Regardless which you call it, it appears inaccurate. My question still stands.
