Turns out the splines on the axle were damaged. I don't know how they got it in before, but after being more aggressive with the dremel on the ends of the splines it went in.
Help! I've worked all day to day Sat. on a simple job that has turned into a major problem. The Axle will not go into the new passenger side hub that I installed today. No big deal normally, I did have to give the axle a tap to get it out of the old hub, but now I'm stuck.
It just barely...
Thanks! Couldn't see what else it would be, but I was looking for things like "you're screwed now". I'll be working on it over the weekend. Luckily my job doesn't mind me leaving it up on stands in the parking lot. :)
I was working on replacing the passenger side strut. I got it out without removing the axle bolt as this is in a parking lot, and I didn't have a new bolt. Big mistake I think. somewhere during the removal, the steering knuckle fell outwards and now I can't move it back. I'm guessing a CV joint...
I just downloaded all of the manuals and I've been looking around. The brake bleed procedure has got to be the most complicated and involved process I've ever seen! LOL Looks like it's a good thing I bought a Ross-Tech.
Can't seem to find a good answer on this. Is there a way to get the DPF information in Torque Pro? All I seem to be able to find is the DPF Pressure. There's an android app dedicated to this, but it's not compatible with the CJAA engine.
So there's no harm in doing this? This is my first diesel, and with Gas cars, you'd be over-flowing into the recovery canister which I guess doesn't exist on these. I've never heard this method endorsed before.
Just used one of these extractors for the first time yesterday. I'm a convert! No way it got everything out, but it measures so close to 4.3 liters that it doesn't really matter!. Cleanest oil change I've ever done. And I'm old, with a bad back, so there's other benefits as well.
I was on the highway when there was a very loud thump! and a rattle. It felt like something had hit the car, or something on the engine failed. I'm looking around, confirming that all tires are still good when it happens again even louder! Like someone had just walked up to the car and hit it on...
Hour east of Pittsburgh here. I'm interested in this one myself. My normal go to isn't available in my SportWagen's size. (not much is) Looks like I'll be going with Firestone for the first time ever.
You're making me nervous. I just bought a 2014 JSW with a sunroof against my better judgement because I couldn't find one without it. I know I'm going to regret this...
