    Serpintine belt to tight

    Thanks; However, I found the problem , on the side of the tensioner where you can hardly see there is a release of some kind that was locked up, and I forced the realease and all seems good.

    It fit ok before, can yo get the tensioner on wrong? I was wondering about that 0r can you get the idler on wrong ? I have rechecked most everything.

    Serpintine belt to tight

    I have a 2000 bettle 1.9 TDI M/T which I went through the engine removing the head, etc. ( removed the engine from the car) and after reinstallating the engine, when I went to put the old belt back on it was so thight I nearly broke it??? Can anyone help me on this, what did I do wrong? Thanks
