Since it broke during the warranty period they still owe you a fixed vehicle. Maybe they'll fix and return your car before the Dieselgate 10 year anniversary (2025). At least you get a loaner until then.
The problem started while under warranty, and they are obligated to fix it even if the miles/time runs over. This is well established for warranties and it's to prevent dealers from dragging their feet and hobbling cars past the warranty deadline and then claiming coverage is expired.
If you...
It still doesn't explain what happens if not enough adblue is refilled, or what happens if the vehicle operator ignores it completely and never fills it up (try convincing a paid per mile truck driver to "do the right thing" and pay extra money to keep the adblue tank filled when instead they...
The "in the event of a dispute between the consumer and Volkswagen, the consumer will prevail" is regarding the settlement vehicle warranty, and does not apply to any kind of buyback.
It you are still under warranty, then they owe you an 'comparable' loaner until your diesel is fixed. Although...
So the software fix will allow the emission system to ignore a faulty low adblue level signal. There is no way to check the level of adblue, unless using a scan tool but if the sensor is broken then it's 100% impossible to check the level. How is the driver suppose to keep up on the adblue...
In related news, a manager at Stelantis (aka Fiat/Chrysler) plead guilty to criminal conspiracy charges for his role in the Stelantis diesel cheating (Ram pickup and Jeep Grand Cherokee)...
I'm referring to modern legal diesels.
Deleting the emission control systems will for sure fix the reliability and repair cost issues, but it's not street legal.
Modern diesels are not more reliable than a 5-10 year old Toyota Prius. Try getting a 2009+ VW Diesel to reach 200K without needing a new DPF, injectors, AdBlue repair, or some other high dollar repair. The odds are against the user (especially any car with the emission fix).
Meanwhile you...
Or buy a hybrid and never pay to replace a DPF or service/fix adblue ever again.
Diesel fuel cost 25% more than unleaded, so the MPG should be price adjusted before comparing.
A 2014 Jetta TDI with 34mpg (30 city, 42 highway), has identical fuel costs of a 27mpg unleaded vehicle (24 city, 33...
The USA charges against Winterkorn was he knew the cheating was going on, and he lied to regulators and attempted to hide and cover up the activity (criminal conspiracy):
The indictment alleges that upon being presented with those and other facts, Winterkorn did not order his subordinates to...
And now Stadler is appealing his 1.2 million dollar punishment (which is less than 1% of his reported 125 million net worth).

Maybe he's jealous of CEO Martin Winterkorn who did not get a trial or any kind of punishment.
Those are the terms of the settlement. The deadline to join the settlement expired years ago.
So unless something changes, VW might have no obligation to give any kind of warranty to anyone who is not part of the settlement. VW might still give a warranty in this situation (awesome), but only...
No jail time for any executives.

Hatz, a former Audi and Porsche manager, admitted to judges that he had helped arrange the installation of emissions-cheating software. He was handed a...
Does the transmission act up or misbehave? Do you know first hand that something is wrong with it? Maybe the dealer is taking you for a ride and maybe nothing is wrong with the transmission?
Buy a $20 OBD scan tool off Amazon (or better yet, a VCDS cable) and see if there is any error codes...
Egr definitely is covered, and yes you're within the covered mileage (although I think the coverage is 11 years and 162k miles. See here)
Contact VW support (or try contacting a different VW dealership), and if they won't budge then contact the lawyers provided by the tdi settlement (search...
Was your vehicle at the shop a total of more than 30 days within 18 months after the emission fix? If so, then it's eligible for buyback (regardless what VW customer care said).
