it did stiffen it up a bit. during the process i also did new sway bar links (OEM ONLY....had aftermarket german made ones and they lasted 5k) also got new conti summer tires (pure contact) the RS3 bushings and lastly got an alignment done. also i run jetta sportswagon SUPLEX TOWING springs...

6speed Manual doesnt need the subframe to be dropped

just installed the RS3 bushings 81A-407-183 in my 2015 NMS passat. Straight forward job...dont have to drop the subframe at all

this jolting happens on my 2009 CC 2.0t TSI with dsg. Even replaced the transmission and still happens

so it looks like that even though these cars are built on the MQB platform the B6 subframe with control arms attached to it isnt as wide as the my original metal NMS passat subframe (with control arms attached)....the B6 subframe is about an inch shorter. i have came across this thread as...

quick update... i tried installing a mk5 rabbit subframe. (different from b6 passat since the rabbit subframe control arm brackets can be seperated) 4 out of 6 subframe bolts line up but the 2 rear bolt holes closest to the exhaust dont line up. so thats a no go. i will be also trying a b6...

i thought the NMS passat platform was electric power steering? or is it only the diesels? as for the subframe...i have a 2015 tdi and will be putting in a b6 passat or a 2010 cc subframe in my car with TT updated bushings...ill report back
