Hey guys, My dad has a 1999.5 Jetta, 5 speed, with ~180,000 miles. From the purchase of the car, the clutch pedal has always seem to be very close to the ground. Hello, (5speed) I was just wondering if you guys ever rev it up to a certain rpm number at a stop light, then switch it into first just to get rolling faster. Is this a strain on the transmission? Does it really help out? How many rpms do you rev it up to? I'm not asking about racing/peeling...
