Completed the buyback on Thursday Jan 5. There are not a lot of A3's in the Atlanta area to buyback but the Buyback Specialist says she is swamped when she does Wednesdays at the VW dealer across the street.
The process was as smooth as can be, I even got a little teary eyed at leaving my...
I have been in love with my A3 since I bought it, but my decision to turn it in are based on several factors:
I put on significantly more miles per month than the settlement allowance
Since the news broke, I have had several close calls from texting drivers
I have some very expensive repairs...
I do not know what VW Credit is doing, but most lenders will approve a payment deferment if you have a good history with them. I just did one with my lender and paid interest only since both of my car payments hit right at Christmas.
Call your lender and see if you can request to "skip" a...
I second that opinion. It's better to be safe in light of the guy who stripped his car, they may raise an eyebrow and think it was deliberately broken unless you have a police report.
Update: Just received my offer and returned the documents
Mine were approved Nov 2, and the offer letter was dated Dec 1. So for those of you around the same date, hang in there !!
This might be the problem, A3 here too, and no response since 11/2 from VW. Now I do not feel so alone in my frustration
Edit: Nope, they have been doing buybacks at several Audi dealers. So I dont know what the holdup is. I'd be less frustrated if they would just be upfront and tell us...
My approved docs are still sitting on step 15 since Nov 2, so I have not gone through the process myself, but from reading everyone else's experience, the ambassadors still have to have your paperwork to process the buyback. If your appointment is two weeks out, they may not have anything yet...
Well crap. My doc's were accepted November 2nd. Now that you wrote that about the 248 area code I checked my call log and sure enough, there was a call missed Nov 15 from 248. Dammit! No messages were left, and no email either.
Insurance takes care of the car to the owner, which is the finance company. What I am saying is if you total a leased car that you prepaid the entire term, you don't get a refund of the money you paid. So you are essentially out all of your prepaid payment.
My guess is they are teasing a one pay lease. Meaning, you use your settlement monies to prepay a 36 month lease.
The downside to a one pay lease is that if something were to happen to the car (totalled, stolen, etc) your money is basically gone. They do not refund your prepaid payments.
I was not even able to get the chat function to work. I'd love to know what possible problem with my paperwork they seem to think I have, or any kind of answer, really, is better than crickets.
They did not lie about MPG. You were getting better than the stated MPG. Where was it stated this lawsuit had anything to do with MPG? You may want to sharpen that reading comprehension skill of yours.
For those of you who have loans (not lease), call your lender and see if they can defer a payment. Many finance companies will do that for you in a hardship situation. This should buy you a little extra time for the buyback without worrying about late fees, collection calls, or getting your...
