Why do the Mk IV Jettas have the arc of, I believe it's the ebrake, hanging down on the rear? I don't see this on any other brands of cars. It just seems they could have designed it with a more buttoned-up appearance. Any real reason for this?

This was awhile back at Jon's tuning session. When Jeff was doing my RC3 he asked I had ever seen my snow screen. Nope!!! He said this was pretty much the worst he had seen at the time. There was cardboard, gobs of dirt, a maple whirlybird, and even a dragonfly. Surprisingly, my MPG wasn't bad.
