    How much different is it to maintain a clean diesel compared to a gas car?

    Let's compare a 2010 Golf TDI to a Honda Civic for example. People are telling me diesels require a lot more maintenance. It kind of shies me away from buying one. But then again, you hardly need to do any work on a Civic.
