LOL yes "free". I always get a kick out of people thinking health care is free in Canada. Not having to pay does not mean it's free. We pay taxes for that "free" health care.

We follow the same emission law that CARB have. So I think that the deal the US gets should be the same for Canada. Unfortunately this will not happen.

Goods we buy in Canada might not be 35% higher than in the USA, but it sure is more expensive to buy things here. The Golf SEL ( highline in Canada) is 2000 more in Canada than it is in the US. Everything cost more in Canada than in the USA. It sucks.

Exactly! What I was told at my dealer, last year, was that they could sell "new" TDI's, but they were considered "used" meaning no full warranties. Could be a different thing with the ones in the US.

Just to clarify, Canada follows the same emission laws as your United States. You cannot buy a new TDI, but the new dealer website has TDI engine as an option when building to price a new car.

Problem solved! I took 2 hours to figure out that I had a burnt out cornering light. Replacement was covered under warranty.

The Canadian Government has stated that they are waiting to see what will happen in the US before they decide on any course of action. Our emission laws are the same as the US EPA.
