The car will never be the same. Mine was hit, and it never drove right, never sealed up right, was never as quiet. Most importantly, I was never happy making a "new car payment" for an "old wrecked car". I sold it to the VW dealership for 3k less than I paid for it 41,000 miles prior. Seemed...

The package is on the way.
You know, when people ask me to VAG-COM their car I am going to give them your phone number (what's a 1000 mile drive to a guy with a TDI?):D

He's Canadian. They still think their healthcare is 'free'. We won't win him over to the logical side - just get in on my group buy for deer whistles and be done with it.
Wait. You want me to be responsible for YOUR safety by using DRLs but you don't want to be responsible for your safety by wearing a set belt?
HAHAHAHaa. you so silly.
More importantly, why are new cars coming with DRLs and not with Deer Whistles!
Neither has been proven to be more or less effective than not having them, and neither is less effective than the other at reducing crashes. Deer Whistles are an important safety feature that have all of the...
VW replaced my radio at about 3,000 miles because some of the features (speed sensitive volume) do not work.
Now, my dash fascia is uneven and the new radio does the same thing.
try your luck with the dealership, but make sure they get all of the panels clipped in properly.
not needed = not mandatory ≠ not a good idea.
I dose it up with 4 oz XPD every fill-up. I have a super clean fuel filter and get moderately acceptable fuel mileage.
I was poking around in Vag-Com , and it appears you can turn the noise off or on through the computer.
I didn't experiment, though. But I would play around with that long before I let them rip my car apart for a new cluster!!!
I don't see any evidence of fire... did you crawl under it and look at the exhaust to see if there was burned plastic residue or something?
Are you still driving the car?
In all seriousness, my fail comment wasn't just about your story/actions.
AND... look up omnipotent. Omniscient is clearly what you meant, I would know.
they are trying to sell your car out from under you, and in this case they can get away with it because you don't have a contract - your agreement with them lacks consideration - next time put down a deposit... AT A DIFFERENT DEALER.
And yes, 1000 under Sticker sounds right to me in this area...
Pay the price you have from them in writing.
If you didn't get the 26k price in the contract then you don't have anything to be upset about.
It sounds like they have agreed to sell your car to somebody else (who doesn't want to wait) for more than you agreed to pay for it, and the...
I hate dealers. But even I would have laughed you out of the office for asking for a new cluster over an 80 mile variance (in your favor). You are very lucky they did not put it up on a lift and "Ferris Bueller" the damn thing for 80 miles.
Second trip to dealership, second time I've had issues.
First trip was for 30,000 mile oil change. Dropped off at 7:45 for an 8am appointment , car was promised back at 1pm. Car was not ready until 4pm.
"Service Now" message displayed on dash when they returned the car at 4pm. Service...
