Thanks again andy. Let me ask you a question it’s a little off topic here. My back rear hatch door is rusted pretty thoroughly. Is there a known pro body shop who can remake that door in fiberglass and install that you know of?I paid wants to have it refurbished but it didn’t last. The car goes...
Andy. If you have a second please check this part number of the heater motor and tell me if I should buy. The resistor pack didn’t fix it. thanks for the help. Gary
What am I in for for costs to fix this fan motor. Fuse appears good. Motor seemed to fail.
I think something got sucked into the interior air intake port for recirculate. Any help welcomed. I’m in S.E. Wisconsin.
Thanks
I spoke with Brochures VW Janesville and they kindly worked out used replacement parts which was much much cheaper. I'm glad they did because new prices would have been a big drag on my expenses. As Luke the Medic said, "No VW before 2003 is worth a grand per bolt. All good now. I should have...
It seemed to be related ta a plate behind the brake and they said two bolt were involved at 1K each. But thanks guys, I'll Check it out more before the work is done. Medic was busy. I should have contacted him I agree
I took it in for ball joint replacements. Now they say they also found a stripped bolt in the RT front assembly that they cannot allow the car to be driven for safety reasons. I had to rent a car. Does this sound even possible. The want me to pay 1K per bolt????
334K on my 02. Runs great although the engine is 100k less old. Timing belt kit done on schedule saves allot of cars. My biggest issue os finding mechanics in WI with the exception of Diesel Medic in Madison. I wish body work was cheaper for the minor dings yjat add up and a few rust issues. Be...
I had a local shop replace thermostat. heat sensor and coolant. I picked the car up and on the 8 mile drive home the red heat light came on and the temp on the meter immediately dropped to zero. Also lots of steam from the hood. I'm guessing the temp sensor popped out and is hanging there...
Will do. It threw an engine dash light too. I think theres a snow block somewhere. Don't have a lift though. Still below freezing here so no melt offs can occur and my garage isn't heated.
I got stuck in the snow yesterday and now the heater does not work nor the temp meter show engine temp.
Engine seems to run fine though. I'm stumped. Any help welcomed. S.E. Wisconsin
Had the car since '14. Jason put a new engine in a used wagon i bought from one of his new clients who blew up the engine getting bad service before he met Jason. Jason had another client that crashed his jetta and sold him the engine out of it. I paid Jason to merge the two. The engine is 120 k...
I like the idea of buying the whole shebang over time and just putting up with the noise especially if I have to do it anyway. What is DMF and SMF stand for? I'm definitely not a mechanic, just a TDI owner.
Could i just do the clutch plate and bearing with good results? (given fingers still good)
230k on engine/clutch. Engine runs strong, replaced turbo and intake cleaned out by Jason TDI recently
My clutch works fine except for new throw out bearing noise.
What are my repair options rather than replace the whole damn clutch system?
This TDI is having more and more issues these days because of age and I need to get it all done reasonably in Wisconsin or loose the car.
Here is a list...
