The noise is also intermittent. But whenever you hear it it is in the same RPM range. Anyone has any ideas? It is difficult to diagnose being that it isn't constant. Went to a guru and low and behold it wouldn't do it. Suggestions? I was thinking turbo originally but now am thinking...

Bazmcc it's not that I have a issue with all rebuilt turbos. I have been modding diesel trucks for the last 10 years. I learned the hard way there are only two turbo rebuilders that I will trust. I hope you didn't take offense to my earlier post as there was none ment.

216,000 and still in stock clutch. I bought it at the end of last may with 174,xxx on it. Has been running like a top until now. I think it may need a turbo I just noticed a funny whistle/whirring noise between 2200-3k rpm. So time will tell.

My brother is looking for a 5-spd golf. He would prefer a gls fully loaded. Also have a friend why would take either a golf or jetta 5-spd also prefers a loaded gls. Thank you.

Just seemed like a lot compared to my 24 valve CR cummins. Then through further reading (should have done before posting). It seems as though the vaccum pump vents into the crank case which is why it would have more pressure then the cummins.

Well as I am fairly new to the tdi world I am unsure as to if this is normal or not. I took the oil cap off while the car was running and it seemed like there was excessive pressure. I am unsure if this is due to blowby or some other cause. If there are possible other causes make a suggestion...

As the title says there is a musty/bad smell coming from my vents only when on recirculation. When it is air from outside there is no smell at all. Anyone ever experience this or have any suggestions?

Well I do love my bike...But in the end you can't have the best of all worlds. I am a diesel nut and have a 2007 5.9L cummins as well. So I decided a diesel car was the next step over the bike lol. The fuel economy didn't hurt my decision either.
