I just sent an email. What can it hurt.
I haven't done anything but submit my info so far. No calls or anything but I'm starting to get impatient.
Have been stuck since October 31st...

Not mad at all. I bought this car at the beginning of...
I'm actually happy with what I'm going to be getting back ( unless my calculations are wrong )...
I don't like this car and I can't wait to get rid of it...
The way that I look at it is I'm the seller and VW is the buyer. I've never paid taxes to sell a car before.
So I can't see how they would be able to tax us on this?
Just a heads up, I received a letter in the mail for my 2013 Jetta TDI that says they have extended this to certain 2012-2013 2.0L TDI models.
I already replaced my flap out of my own pocket so now I'm going to try to get some money back...
Amazing news! This was just extended to 2012-2013 vehicles!
I just received the letter in the mail.
Now here is my question. When I called the dealer before they told me it wasn't covered, and at the time I guess it wasn't. So I just went on eBay and bought a brand new flap from a VW dealer (...
Also having a similar issue that just started 2 days ago. My seats are latched, but i'm going to drive with them folded down tomorrow and see if it goes away.
Thank you! Did this last night. $7 shipped with Amazon prime you can't beat it.
A little tip that worked better for me though:
When you remove the end caps and slide the littler retainer clips off just pull the old rubber blade out. It's not being held in by anything other than the mounting...
It's an exhaust flap part 1K0253691G.
The recall is VWP-13-05
Here is the general info:
Engine Exhaust Flap Limited Warranty Extension
Volkswagen has extended the Emissions Control Systems Warranty for engine exhaust flap replacement
under specific conditions to 10 years or 120,000 miles...
Replaced this thing...
I have a 2013 which isn't officially included in the recall of the part. And all of my local dealers are weeks out on service appointments. It wasn't worth the time or hassle. So I said screw it and just bought my own.
Do you know what kind of coding was done to make these work on your TDI? I have a 2013 TDI with the same lights and adapters ( unsure of model numbers ) and I need to figure out how to code them.
When I installed them and turn the headlights on all of the brake lights come on automatically...
I know this is an old thread but...
I would also like to know this.
Also does anyone have a scan/picture of the letter?
I have a 2013 with about 52k miles and I just pulled this code today:
1 Fault Found:
001164 - Sensor for Exhaust Flap
P048C - 000 - Implausible Signal - MIL...
