Learn to slow down on gravel. The rock chips alone will eat up your VW's paint. Don't wash it on your way home or you'll have dust caked everywhere. Or if has rained it'll be filthy from mud sling. Gotta learn to live with it.

The 2.0 gas flywheel you refer to will bolt up and looks correct but uses a smaller clutch disc. Prolly wouldn't hold the torque of a TDI.

I used the adaptor from Malone and used the stock EGR (in stealth mode) to retain my ASV. Looks stock but "seat of the pants" says OH YEAH.

I agree, I would walk away. To answer your question, it probably got the same exact transmission that it came with from the factory. So... it could last 200k or might not make it back to your place. My $0.02

Before I got Metalnerd's strut spreading tool I used a 1/4" extention in the slot to change struts. If one didn't spread it enough on the bottom I'd put another closer to the top. I got two Metalnerd spreaders just for that reason but one has always done the trick for me. I always spray the...
