BioDiesel gone in SF ... for now

That's cool they are open weekends. The one in San Jose is only 9-5 M-F. Berkeley is still 45-50 minutes away from me, though. It's too bad they couldn't make the SF location work ...

Where to get service in the SF Bay Area?

Nothing special. Just the 40,000 maintenance at Boardwalk in Redwood City. Thanks for the tips, but both those places are over 40 miles from me. I'll keep looking for something closer to San Francisco. I'll let you know if I find anything --

Where to get service in the SF Bay Area?

Help! I just got my 40,000 mile service done at Boardwalk last month and choked on the $600+ bill! What's up with that? Anyway, is there anyplace I can go where they don't rob you for service? BTW, if anyone is stuck in Palo Alto looking for diesel, I just discovered that the Stanford Texaco...

BioDiesel gone in SF ... for now

I haven't been keeping up with the posts, so I don't know if anyone has announced this yet, but I called Jill at Cytoculture last week asking about the status of my Biodiesel card. I paid over $3.00 a gallon last year for 100 gallons and used about 60 when the station was sold. Jill said they...

    Poor tire treadlife?

Hi all: Both my buddy with his 1.8 T and I have to replace our tires at around 42K. Don't know what's going on. Too many mountain roads? Anyway, I had a bad flat on one of my tires. Thank goodness for that full tire spare! I'm looking to buy the Bridgestone Turanza that Consumer's...

2004 window regs-here we go again

I told the dealer that I heard there was a recall out on the windows. He looked down at the ground a said something like, they only replace the windows if there is a problem. So I said the windows all had "problems" -- he said "ok" and fixed them. Bottom line: Apply a little pressure and...

    Upsolute chip with bd?

Hi Mody, No prob with B100 and Upsolute chip. Now, take it from me. Don't wait another second and get the car chipped ASAP. As soon as you chip it, pound your foot to the floor and fly! P.S. Don't tell the dealer ...

    Confused

And ... your garage doesn't smell like rotten eggs anymore. Really, the big bonus for us was to lose the sulfur smell. We have been running B100 about every other tank for close to 12k miles now and we haven't changed the fuel filter ... but we're getting cold feet after reading all these...

My mileage INCREASE with B100 !!!

Well, I've been running B100 about every other tank for the last 10,000 miles or so and I'd say with B100 I can get about 720 miles on a tank and with regular diesel about 750. I'd say roughly 45 mpg with B100 and 47-48 with the dino-diesel. So, this is in line with Sky Pup's numbers.

How many b100 users out there? Sound off!

Ok, I do have to admit I don't use B100 all the time. It's up in the City (SF) and I if I don't time the traffic right, I'm filling up an the local non-BD station

    Window "Clunk"

Window \"Clunk\" I just told the dealer at my 30,000 mile service that I wanted all the window clips replaced and they did it. My friend who has a 1.8T actually had the dealer _ask_ if he wanted the clips replaced. He didn't even know about the problem!

    Toyota Pruis

Weeelllll, here's my experience with the Prius. I've been shuttling around some of us from site to site and extoling the virtues of the diesel and its enviromentally friendly biodiesel fuel I'm using ... and one of my colleagues says that we should try his Prius next time and that I should...

Hey BD fans, what do you think of this re-badging idea?

Weeelll, I just got my first tank of Biodiesel and I got my Biodiesel bumber sticker as well. My observation is almost no one knows what a TDI is, and so putting "biodiesel" on the back of my car gives them the hint. Also, yes, almost no one really knows what biodiesel is either. Even my...

2004 Passat TDI to have some competition... from SUBARU

BTW, As a Subaru owner, I asked them about the introduction of diesel in the US and here is their reponse: "Thank you for visiting our Web site and for your interest in Subaru vehicles. There are no plans at this time to offer a diesel fueled Outback Wagon in the United States. We appreciate...

Diesel's potential sputters: Some makers offer engines but emission problems remain

Re: Diesel\'s potential sputters: Some makers offer engines but emission problems remain I don't understand why we pay more for diesel cars? I thought the diesel was a simple engine compared to its gas driven counterparts. Why would we be paying more, then, for a diesel engine? Is it simple...

2004 Passat TDI to have some competition... from SUBARU

Weeellllll, Our other car is a Subaru Outback. We are very happy with this wagon, and if what they say is true, we'd definately be looking at the Subaru for a diesel alternative. This is great. Competition with diesel in the US? What next !?

    B20 vs ARCO EC Diesel

This is from the EPA report: "A Comprehensive Analysis of Biodiesel Impacts on Exhaust Emissions" http://www.biodiesel.org/resources/reportsdatabase/reports/gen/gen-323.pdf One potential drawback to the use of biodiesel is the increase in NOx emissions. Although the increase is small in...

    TDI availability?

Well, After shopping around a bit, we bought the car right off the lot. It wasn't hard to find TDI's around here. It's funny 'cause a lot of the dealers here the Bay Area were trying to persuade us not to buy the TDI as "unproven" and "new" technology. It was also funny 'cause the guy I was...
