Your response prompted a simple question. Is there a complete fastner kit for VWs that one can purchase? I find the dealing with fastners and each little quirk involving their removal to be very frustrating.

Just a comment and a plug for Peak DEF. I had to fill my tank, as I had a warning of 800 miles to go before I was able to address the problem. It took slightly over 4.5 gals to fill and the Peak DEF with its own ventilated hose was just perfect for a painless spill-free filling.

Just wanted to reinforce the "easy peasy" use of using the Peak DEF 2.5 gal fill I purchased at Walmart. I had gotten down to 800 miles to no start. I went to Walmart and picked up two 2.5 gal. containers. My 2015 just about swallowed all 5 gals. (I'd guess less than a half gal left over)...

I phoned my Dealer to set up my 20K oil change for the 15 SEL and was told there were a number of items that needed work or at least inspection. These included the air bag, the adblue heater, a heat shield and an exhaust flapper gate and the 2nd part of the emissions fix.

This certainly raises the question in my mind concerning how much pressure the carless customer can exert when the 3 hour contractural guarantee is ignored/not honored. This is certainly an extreme case with you suffering a 3 week disaccomodation.
