So, does anyone have any experience with the 5 cylinder diesels? It looks like the "AXG" and "AHY" are the 2.5l versions of the ALH, pretty much. Presumably all the tricks that can be applied to the ALH could be applied to one of those, and net you another 25% bump in power and torque?

Re: "Turbo too big", is that because it takes too long to spool, so you get more fuel than you have the air for at low RPMs? Re: "limited timing", are you talking about injection timing?

I was wondering about this. I have no idea if the bolt patterns even match, but I was wondering if you can use a 2.0l short block under a 1.9l head, and get stronger components that way. I don't know if you even need stronger components. But the BiTurbo 2.0 they're putting in the new Passat...
