One thing I noticed with an open exhaust setup is a drop in EGTs during/after hard acceleration.

I am comfortable running sustained 18psi but nothing more. Blew my previous turbo running a constant 22psi with over 25psi spikes.

I collect an average of 5 tablespoons of oil every 8 weeks from my ProVent. Where is your oil blowby going to go? What if that K&N filter gets blocked and no longer breathes?

You may not specifically need it for the most part, but it is nice to have as an informational source as to what is going on heatwise. It may just save you one day, being able to let off the pedal after a long uphill run at over 50mph.. before overheating and melting or warping things.
