    Vendor References

I bought a grille from him on ebay. The original shipped part was mangled. It had been broken in two places. It may have been shipping and handling, it may also have been the -10F temps. Regardless, Rus was quick to replace the broken part, and quickly! I like the look of the chrome...

    increasing injector nozzles...what to do?

I have a simple question... In order to put the manual size nozzles on my TDI, do I need: 1. VAG - COM to reset anything? 2. To chiptune my car? Will my car's original CPU handle the increased fuel output on it's own or will I have to do anything else??? This has probably been covered, so I...

    Turn signal behaving oddly

IF you have a bad bulb, your flasher will increase it's pace to let you know. The hazard flasher and turn signal flasher are the same. When you get the recall done, the flasher will sound more cheap, almost tinny. I'm so glad they chose a cheap sounding replacement part...one more step...

looking for tdi in a van...

Here's the skinny... I need an AWD vehicle, capable of carrying at least a minivan full of equipment (with no rear seats). The passat just isn't big enough...Toureg too much $$$$. Does anyone know of anyone putting a TDI motor out in a commercially available van?

    V10 tdi swap into anything?

Even in a muscle car 40-50mpg...thats 10 cylinders 6 more than you have now...now way. 30 tops. Although fun to imagine, I'd have fears the frame would tweak and bend...It would be hell to get it in, fun to drive (10 minutes) then hell to figure out how to fix/reinforce the frame...

How to remove this engine cover?

Does it really take this much debate to remove the cover. No wonder I take my vehicle in to get the timing belt changed...my car would be on blocks for 8 months while everyone tells how they do it... lol Glad I don't have a PD now. Take it easy guys, I'm just kidding here.

    Intake cleaning every 50-70k....really????

Hammer, As you can see by the numerous posts, too many factors to predict your intake needs. Before I'd buy used, I'd remove the hose near the antishudder valve (right on top of the engine, springlike clamp, I'm not too sure about the PD models. Look at that area. It will quickly tell you...

    Bully Dog...expensive...anyone heard of them?

Hey all, Just wondering if anyone has heard of an inline tuner box produced by Bully Dog. It's on their website. Retail is 630 or 650 (PD) US dollars. Seems expensive for a chip tuner. Any advice there? I think I'd be better off shipping my CPU module to an upsoluter...

    Another dumb intake question...sorry

I've searched the old posts but couldn't find this exact subject. Saying that, someone will attach a message with this exact question... I had a look at the intake of my 2002 Jetta. There is a very mild case of buildup for 95k miles, I wasn't all that concerned with the intake. The total...

    intermittent starting problems

Still under warranty, so this was on the VW. Turned out to be EGR valve was sticking occassionally. I'm no specific expert, but the mechanic described it as a way to lose critical pressure quickly and snuff the engine. That sounds like what was happening. The engine tried to fire but...

    intermittent starting problems

My wife called me today for a rescue. The 02 bettle would crank but not start. I arrived it started immediately. When I got home I decided to test it a few times in the driveway. When it failed, it seemed like the engine wasn't fully turning over. The starter whined and a small start up...

How can i get a 2004 or 2005 Jetta TDI

I have never understood California's energy politics. I'm much more inclined to be in the "you made your bed...now you have to sleep in it". Not too many states would elect an entertainment figure more than once to governor even Minnesota was able to learn that one. Enough CA bashing... The...

    News/technology topic?

Did anyone else read the recent propaganda VW releases on occasion in their driver's magazine? To my suprise, it seems as though every page was required to have the words TDI or diesel shown in a favorable light. With gas prices, who'd blame them? I guess the reason for my post is that I'm...

    My Dilema

Thank you everyone! I agree with everything said, except for the offer to take it away... Without the option for the 2005 PD TDI, I really don't want to mess with it at this point. I'd like to step up to the 06 though!!!! Has anyone else ever bothered to ask the dealer why a german run...

    My Dilema

Please offer any advice as I'm torn... I currently have a 2002 Jetta TDI. I like the car a lot and it has been maintained to very high standards (Delvac-1 q 5000 miles) as well as all VW scheduled maintenance performed at the dealership here. The car is nearing 73,000. At 80,000 I'm looking...

    Door Ajar Sensor????

Maybe it is the cold. But I really didn't have the patience or time to find where the indicator for my driver's door is. Right now, the car does not sense if I open my driver's door. The dome light doesn't come on. What's more annoying, as I searched for it, the alarm reactivated itself...

    Air getting into fuel line

I thought it is normal to have "some" air passing in the hosing... are these small bubbles? My guess if so, would be to lok at the MAF... Small traces of air in the fuel line are not problematic... A MAF slowly dying is though... Just some alternative thoughts.

    air cleaner

Good luck with this battle, it has quite an argument here. Might as well ask about oil too. Here are some things you may wish to know... K&N filters require oil, if you follow exacting practice of application, you should have no problems. Apply too much and you may fry a MAF... If you don't...
