98 k2500 spongy brakes while running!

I spent weeks screwing with it. Pressure bleeder, scan tool, activating ABS on the roads, every bleeding procedure we could imagine, proper and not. Got a lot of crap out of it btw. If the rear brakes have been drained of fluid on that truck, you have air in the system.

98 k2500 spongy brakes while running!

I made a reply but it didn’t show. Just like a truck I borrowed, except color, to move my daughter back from Texas. I ran enough fluid through my Tahoe to clean yours and my fleet with enough left over for next time. I even tried an ABS valve from a known working truck. When I got the...

Same style of truck I drove down to Texas to move my daughter back north. Nice rig, they run and drive so well, until a brake line rots out. Those ABS systems suck to bleed through. I can’t tell you how much fluid and time I went through on my Tahoe. Every time I got the pedal to operate the...

Yeah, if you ever see a truck of that vintage and they say “just need the brakes bled”, watch out. I was ready to rip the abs out. Never did get it quite right

Record-breaking Recalls by Ford in six months

The Amish should start up taxi services push the 💩 off the side of the road and grow berries and fruit trees. Walk and eat until you’re full, then hitch a ride on the wagon

98 k2500 spongy brakes while running!

It’s a bleeding issue. I bought a scan tool just to do my 99. They are a real bear to get right. Taking it to someone familiar with that job is not a bad idea.

Any tricks for getting the two big subframe bushes in? Can you freeze them?

A solid setup to support and push them out to start with so you don’t distort or gouge anything. Everything cleaned and deburred. A good solid press with tooling that fits for solid support for pressing the bushings in straight.

I never looked at it that close. AFD and AUN Industrial. A different coolant entrance to the block also. I wonder if those horizontal circles on the turbo side are freeze plugs on the block. Ports to release sand out of the casting, if there’s a better term. It may not be of any use for the...

Interesting Phenomenon (Serpentine Tensioner Shock Temp)

I took Donna’s Jetta out prior to pulling it in the barn for service and it was 112° on top of the shock where you are measuring the body of the tensioner was 122-146, top to bottom. Is it possible your IR gun is set to read Chinese? If not, you got a fire hazard on your hands. 😉 FYI 150° is the...

Swapped My ALH for a 1.8T AWP – Best Decision Yet

And then there’s those of us who grew up loving the high rpm power of a good running screaming small block that would not come apart no matter what you did to it. Or the torque of a pavement removing big block that could send parts flying in all directions. …and then found the pull of the...

    TDI 1st Gen Tacoma Swap

You would have to give up some fun to match my fuel economy numbers. I'm pretty much stock as far as stance and lift. Your tires are an inch taller, two inches wider, and about 15 pounds heavier each. Lifts make a big difference.

    TDI 1st Gen Tacoma Swap

Between 32.5 and 36.6 is what mine gets, the latter is consistent with highway driving in moderately flat areas. The former is the worse it's ever gotten including a mix of hauling, off-road, and normal driving. I've never towed a complete tank through it. The truck is light and the gearing...
