Serp belt tentioner problem?
I have a 5.5 jetta that had the same problem at 95,000 mi. The pulley was the cause of the noise,but while it was apart I replaced the tensioner also- fillies

2005.5 Rattling/clanking over bumps
I had a similar problem, couldn't tell if it was coming from the front or rear. and when it was at my trusted TDI mechanic for a timing belt change he found a loose motor mount and no noise since.....FWIW- fillies
