I did the torquing in 3 steps for each stud. I removed a head bolt, installed a stud and hardware, torqued it to like 50, then 90 and finally 125. Then I would move to the next one. I am sure you could probably go straight to 125. I just do it in three as that is how I was trained.

It has been 10 plus years but I did the torqueing just as the directions said. I did not move onto the next stud until fully torqued per the directions. I replaced the bolts in the exact order listed in the torque diagram included with the studs.

The valve cover has a black plastic baffle. When I purchased my car I had to rebuild the engine due to a lifter failure and the oil pan had black plastic pieces from the valve cover.
