It was quite simply the only option to get out without taking a bath.
In the end I am now "Even Steven". I hope your experience when the smoke settles is good. My goal in this tread was to share the reality of what we are are facing with these "defective" cars.
Go ahead and throw more stones.
UPDATE:
My TSI was down for a total of 48 days. I worked directly with VW Care Customer Advocates. They were a joke, they offerd a buy back option that would cost me $1500. Lets remember that I had $2300 in equity, so how can I owe after only owning the car for 48 hours. Had to get a Lawyer...
Well guys today makes 33 days down. The dealer got a ECM from Germany last week but it was not programmed correctly. VW Customer Care is not much help and the dealer does not have answers.
I just sent my paper work to two different lawyers to pursue the Lemon law here I Florida.
This is the...
Please realize that I am speaking of a TSI gasser. The current drivetrain has been in market since 2013.
I am now on the 16th day. I have contacted Volkswagen corporate and opened a case against the dealership. The RCM( VW Rep) has offered me a replacement car. I declined the offer, I...
Update:
Today makes 9 days, dealer is still waiting for a ECM from Germany. REALLY! How is it possible that a car which is assembled in Chattanooga does not have parts in the USA?
It also took three calls to the dealer to get a callback! I am so disappointed!
I asked why its taking so long...
Update:
Dealer replaced sensor for 0236 and reset ECU. Code returned, they put me in a loaner and have ordered a new ECU. Total miles 88.
I do give credit where it is due. They have given me white glove treatment, service director put me in front of the line when I arrived. I know they will...
Hey guys me again. Well I have put 60 miles on my replacement TSI last night the check engine light came on. I went to start the engine and it did not start on the first try, perhaps I did not hold it down long enough? On the second attempt all is well but I now have the light on and it won't...
So before anyone jumps all over my case, let me take you back to June 2015. I walked into my local dealer and pretty much made a spontanious purchase without much research. I always heard good things about TDIs. The only research I did was on my cell phone checking fair prices and finance...
so I'm confused now. I saw a post that only the EA189 engine was the problem. I have a 2015 SE TDI the engine has a build date of 2/28/2015. Which engine do I have?
My first highway trip, WOW
My last two vehicles were as follows: 2006 V8 Tundra, 2013 Outback. The most I can pull out of the Outback CVT was 27MPG on the highway.
Well I just took a 240 mile trip filled up before and after and I averaged 48.74 MPG. I would have to guess but 20 miles of...
Update guys, The still have my car! They replaced springs no help. However it did get fixed after 8 days at the dealer. Guess what it was?????
End links! 8 days for end links! only 66 miles on the car, beat that.
They gave me a 2014 Jetta Sportwagen TDI to drive. It wasn't...
My sticker was 27,000 and change. I ran into the same issue you have, regarding the 0.0% You need to analyze what works best for you a slightly higher price with 0.0% or lower price with perhaps a 1.9% do the math. However 24,300 is a good price for the DSG.
Update. My car went up and down the lift seven times. Three techs pulling and rocking couldn't find the source of the clunk. They give me a loaner and send me away. I get a call at 7:00P.M telling me they can't fix it until a Volkswagen Representative from quality inspects it on...
I think I have all you guys beat. I just bought my 2015 Passat SE TDI this past Sunday I have put 60 miles on the clock. It has a clunking noise coming from the front drivers side when I go over bumps. I'll be at the dealer later this morning.
