    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

I didn't get a stage 2 colt for this car but have one in the '06. Just a oem for this car. I only went with the colt for the 06 to get the 300K warranty. It does seem to make decent power although we never got to compare since I bought the '06 with a really bad cam. On the '03 I found 2 lifters...

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

The CCV is stock at the moment and there is definitely some oil in the system. I have only had the top IC hose off so far and there was some mild pooling of oil in the EGR/anti shudder valve. I'll read up on CCV mods.

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

What are the symptoms of low pop pressure? I have noticed the last 2 days that the idle will surge upwards sometimes like i'm blipping the throttle. It does not always do it and its not very regular when it does. It comes and goes quite a bit. Once it was idling higher than it should have been...

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

In my defense, the noise I was hearing did not sound like: Also you did not mention anything about the cam, and did not reply after I defined "loose". Its the Lifters that makes a big difference rather than being the Rods or Mains as I suspected. I do want to say Thanks! for the reply. And I do...

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

I wish you had posted yesterday! I may need to do some parts returns! I'm not sure the noise is from the lifters, but it could be, I hadn't thought of that. I think I'm hearing the noise from the bottom end. I'll try to isolate it a little more. I don't really hear anything once the oil pressure...

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

I saw the BRM upgrade kit on one of the websites I was looking over. I think the ALH pump is more than adequate if the engine bearings are not worn out.

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

So from what I have found the Nuts on the cam caps are reusable on the ALH. I have ordered: T-belt kit cam kit Rod, Main & thrust bearings with new bolts. Oil pump, chain, tensioner , bolt & washer kit. My plan is to get the engine squared away then take care of the transmission, then the...

My jetta feels a bit sluggish, but I'm unsure.

Google says 14.5 gallons. Look up "ventectomy" if you want to increase it a little.

My jetta feels a bit sluggish, but I'm unsure.

It could be the Glow plug or the wiring I think. I have three on my new car that are faulting. I checked the Glow plugs with a multi-meter and only 1 of them was good. They should be less than an ohm of resistance. I also have some suspect wiring where it drops down by the head. It has worn...

My jetta feels a bit sluggish, but I'm unsure.

The 17057 is a #3 Glow Plug Circuit fault. This is what giving you the check engine light. The others are various communication errors between the ABS module, Radio module and Comfort system. You can look up the codes yourself here: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/01316. I doubt any of...

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

Does the ALH use bearing shells on the cam? From what I'm finding it does not.

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

Wow! That is way cheaper than the BRM's I'm used too. Thanks! Question: Are the ALH cam bolts TTY like the BRM?

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

Sorry, I should have stated that it sounds like the rod or main bearings knocking around a bit- only at startup if the engine has been off for a while. Also, after looking around a bit at other pictures, my cam seems to be a little rough looking regarding the finish machining. The chamfers on...

My jetta feels a bit sluggish, but I'm unsure.

Get the check engine light figured out first. Have someone with a VCDS/rosstech cable read the codes. You could easily have something else going on. I doubt anything in the brake system is setting the CEL, I believe it alerts you to codes set by the engine control only. VCDS will read any codes...

    '03 Jetta TDI Wagon rebuild?

Hi All, I'm now the proud owner of a 2003 Jetta TDI Wagon 5sp. It has 400,000 miles on the clock. I bought it from the original owner. I need to start ordering parts but I need some guidance first. Known problems: 5th gear is worn out and pops out of gear. I will probably re-gear it for better...

    DSG DMF / Alternator Pulley

I see its been awhile since you posted this, nevertheless I still wanted to say thanks! I found one of the other threads you linked below but they were not specifically for the '06 BRM DSG. I had already replaced the DMF on this car. It was definitely bad. Afterwards I had the exact same...
