I had the fuel pump out of the tank on my MK7 coincidentally when I was close to "0 miles remaining" and there was a lot of fuel remaining. I would guess more than a gallon but hard to "eyeball".

Do you know the part number you used? Right, you would be setting parameters in the ECU.

I already replaced the lift pump with P/N 5Q0919050BA just last fall. It was a different design than the original but it does not have seem to have fixed the problem. Someone already tried replacing the VVT oil valve with the latest part number and that didn't solve the problem.

The fellow who started this thread replaced that valve and it didn't solve the problem.

So I replaced my left pump and I thought it fixed the problem until the last two starts. Does anyone know if there is a way to change to minimum glow plug time before the engine cranks with VAGCOM? My thought is it would do two things, ensure the glow plugs always run and give the lift pump...

While all engines do consume some oil, a quart every 2,500 miles is more than you'd expect in a TDI. I would be discouraged too. At this point though I'd agree with everyone else your best bet is just to add oil and monitor the consumption as it's going to be tough to find where it's going...
