My (possible) plan is to replace my Golf with two used vehicles - a late 90s Land Cruiser and a late 90s/early aughts Saab (or other) convertible. As immediately as possible. Really don't want to spend the money on a new VW, even with incentives. Or any other new car. Very excited to live my...
My wife is also 5'2" (and a half, as she reminds me) and she's had no problem in her JSW. She's close enough and high enough and far enough. It should adjust to a good place for your wife.
i even find i can use her setting for shorter trips (i'm 6'), but longer ones i simply move hte seat...
Hi all -
I'd like to go ahead and order a 20k service kit, which includes a fuel filter, for our 2012 JSW. ID Parts has two options - i need to match up the filter style. Unfortunately, the car is in the body shop for the week so i can't check it, but i need to place the order ASAP so i can...
Thule only sold this style of Aero bar for a year or two - the wind noise proved to be pretty high, so they redesigned hte cross bars to be more like an aircraft wing. Feet are the same, though. I've had the redesigned bars on my Golf for a couple years now (constantly, year-round) and wind...
it would not ratchet down after i popped in an iPod. Now it's fully extended. Can't really see much going on in teh latch mechanism...was wondering if anyone's had this issue and developed a fix? 55k miles...no more bumper-to-bumper...ugh.
Thanks!
I've got a Samsung Mesmerize/Captivate/whatever that's just about two years old. Formerly, i had could answer calls via the steering wheel button and talk hands-free. Then I got the 'settlement upgrade'. And could no longer do even that. Apparently, my phone is not on The List. So, i...
I'm so pixxed. A month ago I had the 'settlement unit' installed and my phone hasn't worked since. Paired, but not connected. Finally got it into the dealer today...they tested someone's iPhone on it and it worked ok. My Samsung that worked fine before the upgrade? Nope. It's from a...
this should be better than your standard class action - we're getting an equitable remedy, not cash for loss of value. Our cars will be made to have the feature we were lead to believe they did. Lawyers' fees will be paid outside of that.
Meh. Great idea, but i gots nothin' from Boston north. Not that it's snowed much this winter. Maybe i'll just wait until something good does come up. The nice thing about Tire Rack, though, is they'll mount and balance them for free vs. my paying $20 each to mount/balance.
Hi all -
A 2012 JSW has joined my Golf in the garage. We need to order snows for it ASAP. Any opinions on what Tire Rack cheap alloys will look good?
My Golf has steelies in the winter, but my wife hates that look. I think steelies look bad-ass in the winter, but to each his or her own...
sounds like it's worked out OK for you guys, but a totalled vehicle usually has a 'salvage' title and even fully repaired is generally worth much, much, much less than similar with a clean title.
(looking through 'totalled' threads while I await the insurance company's verdict on my damaged...
me too! The TDI is the first car since my Bugeye that fits me like a glove and is as much fun to toss around.
But AWD with good snow tires was FUNFUNFUN.
in addition, cars with drum brakes are cheaper to produce - the same mechanicals can be used for the parking/emergency brake, where a wheel set up with a disc brake still needs a drum for parking/emergency brake. More parts, more complexity...more money.
Hello all -
those of you with iPods plugged into the MDI cable in the center console - how do you orient the ipod? The cable is short and thick - hard to twist. I don't want to pinch it or either connector. I've tried putting the ipod (3G Nano, so it's small) plug side up and plug side...
