    P2459/08863 DPF Regeneration Frequency

It’s all I have at the moment. It’s ~108K miles. This was pre EGT sensor replacement. I did send it on the EGT sensor. The same 2 codes were still being thrown. Anyway, I have people smarter than me taking a look. I’ll update if I have something relevant to share

    P2459/08863 DPF Regeneration Frequency

You’re right, I’m sorry. I was just throwing in my thoughts on my preliminary work towards this from my desktop. I wasn't expecting to receive so many helpful comments right away: Here's the freeze frame from my laptop: I'll be honest, I overlooked the P0470 until I saw this just now. 8852 -...

    P2459/08863 DPF Regeneration Frequency

My car is throwing P2459, but isn't confirmed yet in VCDS My car is also throwing P2478 - Exhaust Temp Out Of Tolerance for EGT Sensor 1 Bank 1 I haven't been able to diagnose this properly yet since it throws both these codes at the same time I part cannoned the pre-turbo EGT sensor (mounted...

Thanks for the link! I would do a clutch job myself, but it's DSG and I've never done a clutch replacement. Seems intimidating haha

My car woes I noticed today: If I'm in manual mode and under a lot of load my clutch in second gear will slip 🥲 I imagine I got a while yet though because it's pretty specific on how to slip it and even then it's not a guarantee it'll actually slip. It's a DSG if manual mode didn't tip it off...

Interesting. My CKRA sits right at 190F, but I guess that's the dial and not the VCDS readout. If they do differ wildly. However, if it is super cold out (thinking -5°F or below not counting wind chill) my car temp will drop slightly at red lights. I just brushed it off this winter. I'm assuming...

With this cold blast do any of you prep? Like add antigel or do you trust gas stations winterized enough?

That is really sad :( I hope the damage didn't go super far. But, I hope you're doing good. It's always nice to see a car doing its job keeping occupants safe. How was traction this morning? I work from home so I don't know haha. Anyway, it seems like you kept good control of your jump without...

Sad there is no Passat. Not sure if they transfer well. My belly pan is being held on by hopes and dreams

Haha all good GlowBug This is a good reminder because I still need to install my FrostHeater. It just seems like a PITA for some of the hoses and I need to buy some backup G13 coolant from IDParts or something

So you fill from the filter housing? I went with filling from the drain hole. Maybe your VW is just a lot easier to work on or we go about it different ways. I followed AllData and ShopDAC’s video. This reminds me that the oil filter is in a tough location too. It’s like the ring of fire on...

I was told when level setting the trans you have to have the car level. So I ramped the front wheels, but I also needed to raise the backend. I know you can jack from the front to raise the rear but my ramps were in the way. It's just not the easiest to raise this car without a lift. The car is...

Just did the 40k service today (78,000mi) what a to-do that was. I'm glad I got it done before the colder weather rolls in though. Anyway, the hardest part was getting the car on jack stands  Few cool notes. I only made one auto-part store run for 1 tool which was the 8mm allan key for...

Passat NMS Timing Belt Tensioner Over Torqued?

Update: just used a new idler. Didn’t want to risk it. Car is up and running. DIY timing belt is not that bad on these engines all said and done. Saves so much $$$

Passat NMS Timing Belt Tensioner Over Torqued?

I went till it sounded expensive then I realized what I did. Took it off and inspected it. It still holds tension, just kinda hesitant.

I'm talking about going well past the window indicator when putting tension on the belt.

Passat NMS Timing Belt Tensioner Over Torqued?

Hey, I'm doing a timing belt on my CKRA TDI. When I put the timing belt on and was tightening the tensioner I felt like I may have over tightened it. It clicked after I went past the 180 degrees of rotation. I took the tensioner off and the spring and metal seemed fine, nothing looked out of...
